    This Privacy Policy explains how Tripmint (“we”, “us”, “our”) processes personal data in accordance with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (nFADP) and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

    1. Data Controller

    Tripmint is operated by a private individual based in Switzerland.

    2. Personal Data We Process

    We may process the following categories of personal data:

    • IP address and technical device information
    • Approximate location (derived from browser settings, if permitted)
    • Account identifiers (via Replit login; later optional third-party identity providers)
    • User-provided trip inputs (destinations, activities, preferences)
    • Generated trip plans and interactions
    • Feedback, messages, and feature requests
    • Usage data necessary to operate and secure the service

    We do not intentionally collect sensitive personal data.

    3. Purpose of Processing

    We process personal data to:

    • Provide and operate the Tripmint service
    • Generate AI-assisted travel plans
    • Display maps, images, and contextual travel information
    • Improve features and user experience
    • Respond to inquiries and feedback
    • Ensure security and prevent abuse
    • Comply with legal obligations

    5. Third-Party Services & Data Sharing

    Tripmint integrates third-party services. Personal data may be transmitted to them as required for functionality:

    • Replit – hosting and authentication
    • Google Maps – maps, routes, and location visualization
    • Unsplash – destination images
    • Open-Meteo – historical weather and climate data
    • AI providers selected by the user, including:
      • OpenAI (ChatGPT)
      • Google (Gemini)
      • xAI (Grok)
      • Anthropic (Claude)
      • DeepSeek
      • Mistral

    Each provider processes data under its own privacy policies and terms.

    6. International Data Transfers

    Some third-party providers are located outside Switzerland or the EU/EEA. Data transfers take place in accordance with applicable safeguards such as adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses.

    7. Data Retention

    Personal data is retained only as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy, unless longer retention is required by law.
